Mandan Universal Playground

MANDAN UNIVERSAL PLAYGROUND – PARK DESIGN & PLANNING

This inclusive playground was designed to accommodate the needs of all people including those who have autism, intellectual disabilities, hearing impairments, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and other such disabilities.  It also addresses the needs of typical, able-bodied individuals.

The park itself is situated on 3.8 acres in Mandan, North Dakota.  Amenities include an ADA accessible community room, park shelter, inclusive playground equipment, and other related amenities.  The park has quickly become a regional destination, with visitors regularly coming from North Dakota and beyond.  Brett Gurholt completed this project as a project manager while employed with another local design firm.
