PRAIRIE TERRACE – LUXURY RESIDENTIAL DESIGN
The design of this space was inspired by the clients’ preference for contemporary finishes. The front yard features a series of terraces that protrude vertically from the ground plane to marry with the site’s sloping topography. Masonry and cement board planter boxes were used to contain ornamental grasses and columnar oak trees. Stainless steel was used throughout the site to provide a subtle sheen that picks up on the green hues of the landscape. Artificial turf was used to cap several planter boxes and as striping between concrete flagstone. The design of the rear yard provides an intimate setting for social gatherings of all sizes. A steel and ipe pergola was installed over a concrete patio which houses sleek, modern site furnishings and a gas fire table. The decking was skirted with ipe lumber and features a planting niche with copper backsplash. Stainless steel and cement board planter boxes were added for screening and privacy. The result is a sleek and contemporary design reflective of the clients discerning tastes.
